Bell Telecom bares tech for broadband

-
Bell Telecom recently held a one-day seminar for IT and business professionals on broadband technology and its next-generation IP services.

Titled "Beyond Bandwidth: Creating and Implementing Intelligent Networks," the seminar primed the audience on current and future telecommunications technologies, as well as the next-generation services of Bell Telecom that broadband enables such as Virtual Private Networks, Virtual Firewalls and Virtual Local Area Networks that run on the Internet Protocol platform.

Designed to be cost-efficient, constant services with 99.98 percent reliability, these next-generation communications solutions would allow companies to conserve their fiscal resources by removing from them the burden of having to provide their own network design, infrastructure and maintenance.

IP-based services and Virtual Networks would also give better value-for-money than physical networks because they would be constantly upgraded over time as technologies evolve, at smaller additional cost to customers than having to upgrade customer- owned equipment.

Joby de Belen, Bell Telecom vice president for sales and marketing, said, "Broadband solutions enable companies to increase productivity because it allows them to focus on their core businesses. Having a broadband connectivity bundled with these IP services makes corporate requirements such as voice, video, security and data transfer over networks not only technically feasible but cost-effective as well."
