CEPCA 2025 monthly tourney kicks off today

CEBU, Philippines — This year’s edition of the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) monthly tournament gets underway at 1 p.m. today (Sunday, January 26) at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The one-day tilt backstopped by CEPCA President Engr. Jerry Maratas with Dr. Edwin Cablao as co-sponsor is exclusive to Cepcans, seniors, ladies, and 12 Under players.

The champion will pocket P3,000, while the second to fifth placers will receive P1,500, P1,000, P750 and P500, respectively.

There will also be a P300 incentive for the best Cepcan, lady, senior, and kiddie performers.

Aside from the prize money, the top finishers per category (Cepcan A and B) will also earn spots to CEPCA’s year-end “Battle of Champions” this December.

Registration fee is pegged at P150 for ladies, seniors and kids, P200 for Cepcans, and P300 for non-active, non-paying members of the club.
