MANILA, Philippines — About 100 vloggers, YouTubers and online content creators gathered as leading camera brand Sony unveiled its newest line-up of top-notch cameras and accessories during the #VlogWithSony event last May 30 at the Blue Leaf Pavilion in Taguig.
Compact and tough: the RX0 II Camera
Headlined by top-of-the-line photo and video devices, the event featured the launch of the ultra-compact Sony RX0 II camera. The small but highly capable camera shoots high quality videos with 4K 30p internal recording and image stabilization.
Sony RX0 II sports an upgraded LCD screen that tilts up to 180-degreees for perfectly framed shots. Inside, it has a one-inch image sensor and advanced imaging processor that enables Eye Autofocus and delivers beautiful skin tones. The RX0 II is ultra-compact in size, with a tough, rigid body that’s waterproof up to 10m (body only), shockproof up to 2m drop, and crushproof up to 200kg weight. It is compatible with a shooting grip that acts as a mini handle/tripod with dedicated rec and shutter buttons, along with a zoom toggle.
“We are very grateful for the support from our loyal customers, and lots of them are into digital content creation and entertainment. We always do our best to listen to them — what they need to live their passion. Our latest collection dedicated to “grip-style shooting” aims to help them improve their creative business,” shares Sony Philippines managing director Nobuyoshi Otake.
Sony A6400 for content creators
For content creators, the company also introduces the A6400, a compact 24MP mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that is compatible with Sony’s unique hand-held grip, perfect for vloggers looking for an easy-to-use vlogging set up.
Equipped with fast 0.02s AF and 425 phase-detection points, the Sony A6400 can detect and lock in moving subjects. The Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye Auto Focus can produce sharp focus for action shots. Inside, there is a large APS-C sensor capable of shooting 11 Frames per second, with ISO 100-3200. Powered by the latest image-processing engine, this camera can produce images even in low light settings. It also comes with Super 35 mm format recording with 2.4 times oversampling results in 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160).
“The brand took time to learn and understand the different needs of content creators when it comes to their cameras. Sony is in full effort to innovate and come up with products that are powerful and flexible enough to supply content creators with the right gear — from starters to pro, there is a Sony camera for you,” explains Sony Philippines marketing director Hideyuki Wada.
To further equip vloggers with tech know-how, commercial photographer Nigel Laxamana made a hands-on demo on the features and capabilities of the Sony A6400 while YouTuber Carlo Ople shared some tips on how to establish and properly monetize a YouTube channel.
Both the RX0 II and A6400 are part of Sony’s ‘Total Vlogging Solutions,’ a complete line of cameras and accessories for vloggers to elevate their content with 4K video quality. The A6500, RX100M5A, RX100M6, AXP55, and the X3000R complete this innovative Sony lineup. Depending on personal shooting style and type of vlogging, Sony offers 51 native E-mount lenses that further improve content — from travel, beauty, food, or entertainment.
