BAGUIO CITY — The mountain chill in Baguio City dropped to a record low of 10.4 degrees Celsius early Tuesday morning making residents, especially those in the city's areas to shiver.

This, as PAGASA said, the northeast monsoon or “Amihan” continues to prevail over Northern Luzon, bringing lower temperatures to the region.

This is by far the lowest drop this year after mercury levels dipped to a low of 12 degrees on January 13, surpassing 2018’s lowest at 11.4 degrees.

Baguio City reached a low of 6.3 degrees on January 16, 1963, the lowest so far in history.

Baguio's signature chill usually starts in November and lasts until February.

PAGASA said the mountain enclave will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies adding up to the bone-biting chill, with isolated light rains due to Amihan while strong winds blowing from the Northeast prevails over the mountain region.
