Oppo redefines new standard of premium smartphone

The R17 Pro and Fin X signify Oppo’s transformation and commitment to strengthen its presence high-end smartphone industry.

MANILA, Philippines — As we approach the end of the year, we notice the growth of Oppo in the country and in the world. From a start-up over four years ago, Oppo has grown by leaps and bound to become the smartphone company it is today.

There is a whole range of smartphones it has introduced in the country, from the entry-level to the famous mid-range F series.This 2018, Oppo stepped up and introduced two premium smartphones to reshape our imagination.

Aside from diversifying its product portfolio with focus on the flagship smartphones, Oppo is also committed in becoming ahead in industry through continuous investments in research and development. Recently, it has come up with innovative and advanced technologies such 5G, AI and Super VOOC flash charge.

Launched R17 Pro

The R17 Pro showed that Oppo is able to offer a full range of product portfolio for all types of consumers. It also cemented Oppo’s goal of lifting the brand’s image and marked its entrance to the premium smartphone industry.

Introducing a triple rear camera, the R17 Pro captures amazing night shots with dual-aperture lens and superior AI technology. It upgrades both hardware and software, making it a smartphone especially designed for night shooting. It features a software-level AI Ultra-clear Engine that allows users to take high-quality night photos. The AI Ultra-clear Engine is Oppo’s unique image-enhancing technology that is able to break all hardware limitations to maximize the image quality to produce amazing night shots.

The R17 Pro also carries SuperVOOC flash charging technology, allowing users to enjoy fast, safe and efficient charging technology. It can charge up to 40 percent in only 10 minutes.

Another unique feature of the R17 Pro is its “three-color and bi/quad-direction” gradient design. Through adding a light-condensing layer, the R17 Pro’s misted glass casing allows light to flow on the surface of the device, demonstrating leading color aesthetics and innovation.

It launched the smartphone at the Louvre Museum in Paris —  this Oppo Find X caught the high-end smartphone users’ imagination. With its panoramic arc screen and full stealth 3D sliding cameras on the front and back of the smartphone. Moreover, it boasts 16MP and 20MP AI Dual Cameras.

Exceptional charging technology

Oppo held its SuperVOOC Flash Charge day in Shanghai where it announced that it will officially license VOOC Flash Charge technology. Over 100 million Oppo smartphones are powered by VOOC and now, Oppo has also signed patent license agreements with six chip and terminal manufacturers. By licensing its proprietary technology, it seeks to drive the development of the flash charging industry and jointly build a VOOC Flash Charge ecosystem with industry partners to provide a superior flash charging experience for consumers everywhere.

“Since the launch of VOOC Flash Charge in 2014, Oppo has never ceased to research, develop, and break the speed limits of flash charging,” said Yiren Shen, Oppo’s global vice president and China president. “VOOC Flash Charge has also reached a major milestone, powering more than 100 million devices around the world today.

It is this unwavering dedication to R&D that Oppo has established a technological foundation with VOOC Flash Charge. VOOC Flash Charge has applied for more than 1,000 core patents worldwide continues to innovate flash charging technology to the next level.

5G here we come

At the “2018 Oppo Technology Exhibition’ in Shenzhen, Oppo founder and CEO Tony Chen announced an increase in R&D spending to USD 1.43 billion next year – a 150% year-on-year increase – and that the company would continue to increase investment on a yearly basis. The increased R&D capital will allow Oppo to integrate its supply chain and build on its technical expertise to enhance the company’s technological capabilities.

“5G is a trend Oppo must embrace. In addition to striving to become the first manufacturer to launch 5G smartphones, Oppo’s exploration of application Opportunities in the 5G+ era will ultimately determine the value of 5G,” Tony Chen stressed. “Oppo will fully integrate 5G with applications and user insights, and continuously innovate to provide users with revolutionary, necessary, convenient and seamless experiences.”

But beyond better cameras with the most advanced technology the AI for smartphones will also become our personal assistants.

 “We must dare to explore, dare to make breakthroughs and dare to innovate,” Chen added. “In the future, Oppo will fully integrate technological innovation with art and humanity, to develop smart devices and smart homes with the smartphone at their core, and an underlying mission of continuing to meet people’s expectations for a better life.”
