Global summit in Philippines to showcase boundless development of blockchain
MANILA, Philippines — Blockchain is taking center stage in the country with two major conventions, the Global Blockchain Summit and the lnaugural Blockchain Achievement Exhibition in June.
Co-hosted by Global Blockchain Application Research Foundation Inc. and GOBA Foundation and organized by Leilook, the simultaneous events will be held on June 24 at Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
On May 20, organizers officially announced the Global Blockchain Summit, as well as revealed that politicians from different countries, a large number of internationally renowned experts and scholars, and hundreds of industry leaders will be invited. They also extended invitation to the government and people of the Philippines to grace the international event.

Present at the press conference were Global Blockchain Application Research Foundation’s Dylan She who introduced the development and application of the Global Blockchain technology; GOBA Foundation chairman Wang Hong Bin who shared how the foundation encourages and supports the development of Blockchain technology; and Leilook founder Duan Yu who mentioned the progress of Global Blockchain Summit. Jesus Vicente Magsaysay, a well-known Filipino diplomat and entrepreneur, gave the welcome remarks.
The Global Blockchain Application Research Foundation will be the first institute for blockchain application and research in Philippines. “It’s not only a responsibility but an obligation to be the first to host the Global Blockchain summit,” said She.
“The Philippines has a relatively supportive and encouraging policy for emerging technology industries such as blockchains. Through the summit, we hope to gather entrepreneurs and investors of high-quality Blockchains projects here, as well as enhance the competitiveness of Philippines in blockchain technologies globally, especially in the financial field,” he said.

The Global Blockchain Summit will dedicate an area to the Inaugural Blockchain Application Exhibition, which aims to showcase blockchain not just as technical terminology but something that can be touched and experienced.
According to Yu, the combination of forum and exhibition is the key feature of this year’s summit. By doing this, attendees will be able to obtain industry development analysis, policy interpretation and industry insights from professionals. “We hope that attendees will be able to experience the boundless Blockchain development from multiple dimensions,” he said.
Over a thousand Blockchain exhibitors will present their products to the public such as digital asset transaction, distributed storage, cross-border payment, traceability and fraud prevention, insurance claims automation, content incentive community, and the Internet of scene (or IOT).

For his part, Wang discussed the trends of the development of blockchain. He said that there will be a promising future in the field, but it also comes with uncertainties and risks. Its development will face numerous difficulties in the future, while challenges will become stronger and tougher if stakeholders will not work together.
The GOBA Foundation is an "international non-profit charitable organization" approved by the Thai government. This time together with the Blockchain Application Research Foundation Inc., it will host the world's top blockchain summit, adhering to “the core concept of pragmatic economic, culture in advance and education as core.”
With rich experience and abundant resources, together with its contribution to the development of the blockchain industry, this cooperation will also explore new ideas for building the foundation of the "One Belt and One Road" at the summit.
