The Samsung Galaxy Note 4: An awesome Christmas present
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is simply the best phablet there is right now. And if you were to give someone a special gift this Christmas, I am pretty sure the Galaxy Note 4 will make quite an awesome present.
I was actually dumbfounded a few weeks ago when I heard that the Galaxy Note 4 phone was about to be launched. Wasn’t it just a few months ago that the Note 3 was launched? I can even remember the excitement I had while watching the unveiling over live stream video. And now something new is in the air.
But more than questioning the timing, I wondered how else Samsung could top the Note 3. It has been my favorite phone since I got it. I thought of how else they can improve on the Note 3 when it seems to have everything you can want on a phablet. But my questioning immediately stopped when I held the Galaxy Note 4 in my hands.
It did not take me too long to get very excited. Compared to the Note 3, the Galaxy Note 4 has a faster processor and graphics, a clearer Quad HD screen, 3GB of RAM, a great camera with 16-MP at the rear and 3.7MP in front, and a metal cover. The changes are obvious even if you do not know the specs yet. Throw in a fingerprint scanner, heart-rate monitor and a UV sensor. The apps also run faster. The Note 4 comes in black, white, gold and pink colors. And these are just for starters.
The Note 4 also has 78 percent more pixels than its earlier version. The S pen is doubly more sensitive. The camera also has OIS or an Optical Image Stabilization for even steadier, clearer shots. And I am happy it borrowed the brilliant Ultra Power Savings app from the S5 which makes a battery with 10% power last another 15 hours. The charging time is really fast—approximately 50% in 30 minutes and it will run a full day even with heavy use.
IfyouhaveaNote3and love it, you will love the Note 4 more. If you have never had an Android phone all this time, read on.
With so many new phones out now, why get the Galaxy Note 4 over the others? That is a good question.
The Note 4 belongs to the phablet category because of its size. It is a hybrid of a phone and a tablet. Its nearest competitor today is the iPhone 6 Plus, and there is an epic battle going on about which is the better buy.
On the question of which is the generally better phablet, most reviewers point out that the 4th generation phablet from Samsung tops iPhone 6 Plus. Samsung has ironed out more kinks, introduced more innovations, and all these clearly show on the Note 4. They’ve learned a lot in the past four years. The iPhone 6 plus entry into this category while admirable is not as great a product as its competitor.
Tech writer Gordon Kelly who wrote a comparative review of both gadgets for Forbes magazine sums it up this way:
• iPhone 6 Plus: beautiful, simplistic, impractical
• Note 4: plain, complex, practical He also says that the Note 4 has far more features and tops its competitor on many more fronts. For example, the multi-screen capability of the Note 4 is pure delight.
Some of the things Apple IOS is bragging about were already on premier Samsung phones as way back as two years ago. NFC is nothing new on Android while Apple is crowing about it only now.
This is the reason for choosing Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It is simply the best phablet there is right now.
And if you were to give someone a special gift this Christmas, I am pretty sure the Galaxy Note 4 will make quite an awesome present.
