Acer to adopt major marketing strategy

MANILA, Philippines - Acer Philippines hinted at a major marketing move that will make consumers really enjoy and appreciate its new products.

“We will have a very special tie-up with an international event. But one thing for sure is that it’s for the Filipinos and they will surely like it. For now, however, we hope consumers will like this Acer Concept Store, which has a nice display that appeals to everybody,” said Acer Philippines general manager Manuel Wong during the recent opening of the newest Acer Concept Store at SM Fairview in Quezon City.

The concept store features refurbishments that give it a more contemporary and stylish look to appeal more to discriminating consumers and more space to accommodate more products that suit their needs.

Wong also lauded the collaboration of Acer with global chip-making giant Intel and Asianic Computers, for the opening of the Acer Concept Store as they pushed to break the barriers between consumers and technology.

“We have strengthened our business together and we are looking forward for more collaborations in the coming years,” added Wong.

Intel Philippines, which is now on the heels of promoting tablets and smartphones, cited the partnership with Acer and Asianic Computers, saying it is happy with the results of the collaboration, adding that the partnership was also marked with increased sales. 

Wowie Wong, market development manager of Intel Philippines, said Acer Philippines is helpful and cooperative to make the partnership a true success.

He said Intel will continue its joint effort with other IT companies as it looks forward to introducing more simplified devices.

“What we are looking at right now are the two-in-ones. Many people are using tablets. And they also have another separate device. Our intent is to remove the two devices and turn it into one,” said Wong.

On the part of Asianic Computers, which started in 1990 and since then has built more than 30 stores nationwide, owner Peter Wee said they are satisfied with the collaboration with Acer Philippines and Intel. “Through the partnership, we really grew faster than we had imagined,” he said.
