Pointwest attends major international expositions

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Pointwest, named as the Best Filipino-Owned Company of the Year in the 2014 International ICT Awards-Philippines, ramps up its participation in major international conferences with attendance to two of the biggest ones in the Asia-Pacific region.

A team just returned from a trade mission to Australia and participation in CeBIT Australia, the biggest IT and business conference in that continent.

Pointwest was part of the Philippine delegation to CeBIT Australia, led by the Information Technology Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

CeBIT Australia 2014 ran from May 5 to 7 at the Sydney Olympic Park and had thousands of visitors ranging from the C-suite members of leading companies to academics and specialists from many fields.

A second team of Pointwesters also took part in the 23rd Software Development Expo (SODEC) in Japan. SODEC is the biggest software industry expo of Japan and is one of the highlights of the Japan IT Week, which is the country’s largest trade show featuring the latest IT technologies and solutions.

Team Pointwest was part of the Philippine trade delegation, which was under the auspices of the DOST-ICTO, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Software Industry Association and the IBPAP.

The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Japan, through commercial counselor Dita Angara Mathay, arranged company visits, business-to-business meetings with Japanese companies, a Philippine Software and ITO seminar at the ASEAN-Japan Center, and a courtesy call to Ambassador Manuel Lopez.

Pointwest’s participation as a member of the trade mission comes at an opportune time as Japanese organizations have seen strategic collaboration as a way to help them service not only their domestic market but also the rest of the world.

Since its founding in 2003, Pointwest has consistently provided best-in-class IT and BPM services to clients that include members of the Fortune 500 and top Philippine companies.

Pointwest has helped companies in various industries such as transportation and logistics, healthcare, banking, retail and utilities. It also offers digital services like cloud and mobile application development, which enable enterprises to leapfrog into the digital world.
