Gionee Pioneer P3 epitomizes economy in smartphones

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - How do you define economy in the context of smartphones?

To simply put it: the features and functionalities should equal those of high-end smartphones but can be bought at a surprisingly low price.

And to put it in simpler terms and in a more concrete manner — check out the Gionee Pioneer P3 smartphone.

The Pioneer P3 is the entry of the top mobile device manufacturer in the less-than-P10,000 market. It was launched in the Philippines just this month and is now available in Gionee partner-retailers nationwide, including MemoXpress, Hello Telecoms, Ghz, and Aerophone.

Gionee Pioneer P3 is the epitome of economy when it comes to smartphones. It is stylish and packs a lot of punch features-wise.

“If you will look at the features of Pioneer P3, they are comparable to the more expensive offerings of other brands,” Gionee Philippines mobile head Katrin Salanga Gregorio said.

The Gionee Pioneer P3 smartphone has a 4.30-inch 480x800 touch-screen display powered by a 1.3-GHz quad-core processor alongside 512MB RAM.

Its basic features include a five-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera with flash.

It has a dual-SIM functionality, allowing you to save on money and sparing you from the burden of carrying two phones if you need to subscribe to two telecommunication providers.

Its software is powered by Android 4.2 operating system and is supported by Java. It has Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.

Tinkering with the phone will lead you to amazing discoveries on what the Gionee Pioneer P3 has in store for you.

Gionee, despite being a new entrant in the Philippine smartphone market, has already created a lot of buzz in the country with its trendy yet affordable mobile devices.

“We are confident of making our mark in the Philippine market with our offerings for different price segments. We are confident of capturing the fancy of Filipino buyers, who have become wise consumers as they are really examining the features of smartphones before buying them,” Gregorio said.

Gionee launched its first flagship smart phone — the Gioneer Elife E6 — in the Philippine market last October. It is now among the top smartphone brands in the world, selling over 23 million handsets per year worldwide.

A top review site cited that the Gionee Pioneer P3 is a budget smartphone with a quad-core processor to flaunt. The phone is certainly capable of handling average routine multitasking and does not trouble you for that.

With its decent plastic build and finish, it does not feel cheap, unlike many other products in the segment. Also with the average screen size, the phone will fit in most pockets.

Considering that the phone is at P4,999 (the most affordable quad core), the Gionee Pioneer P3 is quick and smooth, the same site added.

Established in 2002, Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. is a hi-tech company engaged in mobile device designing, R&D, manufacturing, sales in international markets, and mobile Internet application services.

Gionee smartphones, another top review site said, are expected to gain strong following in the market as Filipinos start to display loyalty to the brand.

Belexis Concepts Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Gionee smartphones in the Philippines.
