Vibal hosts Taiwan e-learning delegation

MANILA, Philippines - Vibal Publishing House Inc. (VPHI) recently played host to a delegation of Taiwanese businessmen on an e-Learning InBound Mission in the Philippines.

Organized by the Taiwan Institute for Information Industry (III) in coordination with the Board of Investments, Vibal was specifically selected by the Taiwan III as one of the stops of its four-day tour in the country.

The delegates were led by Taiwan III director Min-Tsuei Chen, section manager Joseph Tsai, and associate planner Jasmine Wu; Apple Lam, project lead of LiveABC; education products manager Sylvia Huang of Shuttle Inc.; managing director Frank Chen and sales manager Alice Yang of Ren An Information Technology Co. Ltd.; general manager Wally Su of Over-Paradigm Technology Inc.; Sun Net Technology Corp. president Robert Kang; and Shou Yang Digital Technology Co. Ltd. CEO Shou Yang. The delegates were accompanied by Paul Tajon and Patricia Bustamante, investment specialists from the BOI.

Esther Vibal, chair of the Vibal Group, personally welcomed and greeted the delegates during the meeting held at the VPHI multi-purpose hall of the VPHI main office in Quezon City.

After the welcome remarks by vice president for marketing Jules Corotan, the Taiwanese delegates were given an overview of Vibal’s achievements in digital education and technology by Chris Datol, operations manager of Vibe Technologies. John Victor Aclan, lead solutions strategist, conducted a demo of Vibal’s technology products including V-Smart Learning Management System, which impressed the delegates.

After an interesting exchange during the Q&A, the delegates were also given a chance to present their company. Joseph Tsai of Taiwan III shared a presentation explaining their projects that support the development/applications of the information industry as well as the information society in Taiwan.

Apple Lam of LiveABC also made a demo of their products including a “talking” pen that teaches language to students. Sylvia Huang of Shuttle Inc. presented Edupal LMS for Android tablets. Wally Su of O-Pa Technology also delivered a presentation about his company as a designer and developer of interactive digital courseware.

The meeting ended with a plant tour of the Vibal facility.
