Enablers key to creating more business in Phl

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Enablers have played a key role in the Philippines’ enhanced global competitiveness and investment grade ratings, according to DTSI Group.

Outperforming China, the Philippines is now the fastest-growing economy in Asia for the first quarter of 2013 with a 7.8-percent growth in gross domestic product (GDP), according to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB).

Miguel Garcia, president and CEO of the DTSI Group, said enablers have transformed virtually every industry by empowering investors to face tough challenges and make the right investment decisions.

“In an increasingly competitive global arena, potential investors need to leverage deep expertise in the evolving Philippine business environment,” he said.

“One of the main drivers for investments in the Philippines is the information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) industry,” he said.

“In fact, an informal industry survey conducted earlier this year by Outsource2Philippines and Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) showed that 88 percent of established IT-BPM firms plan to increase their workforce size up to 200 percent this year. An overwhelming majority also consider the Philippines a less risky destination for investments and outsourcing compared with China and India, despite the continued appreciation of the Philippine peso,” he added.

The IT-BPM industry, among other major industries in the Philippines, relies on world-class smart buildings to meet the demands of the expanding sector and its international clientele.

This year, the DTSI Group has received several awards for its outstanding performance in fiscal year 2012, including Avaya Business Partner of the Year in the Philippines, Cisco Premier Partner of the Year in the Philippines, and the Frost & Sullivan’s Contact Center Applications Value-Added Reseller of the Year.

A member of the NTT Communications Corp., the DTSI Group provides innovative business communications technology and end-to-end facilities and management services for a wide range of industries.

“One of the things we do for our clients is to develop smart facilities and buildings to promote cost savings, sustainable urbanization, and overall efficiency in the workplace,” Garcia said.

“With managed services, for example, companies are also enhancing their operations to focus on delivering value. These capabilities are driving the growth of major industry verticals in the Philippines,” he added.

A trusted partner of global organizations, the DTSI Group has demonstrated its role in strengthening the Philippines’ competitiveness as an investment destination.

“As an industry pioneer, we are keen on showcasing the Philippines’ capabilities to the rest of the world. We will continue to serve as an enabler as we expand our global footprint under NTT Communications Corp.,” Garcia said.
