Devant distributor marks 10 years, launches new products

Julius Tabios - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Technological advancements have been made to cater to any consumers’ whim. A staple piece in any household is a television set and something that plays any type of pre-recorded medium. We used to have Betamax and VHS players which are now remnants of a lost civilization.

Moving along we got the VCD players followed by DVD and BluRay. TVs have evolved so much more — from the crude images of the earliest form of the cathode ray tube to screens capable of 4,000 pixels of (currently) unparalleled detail.

From the silent sepia films of old, we now have the luxury of crisp high definition in our living rooms. Now we don’t even have to shell out a fortune to have a home entertainment system worthy of an A-lister.

TVs, players, and audio systems have become less of a luxury and are even becoming more accessible to the average Filipino. With this demand, a number of brands rose and some electronics manufacturers made it to the top of the market. TechPoint Enterprise’s brand of budget TVs is slowly but surely gaining momentum in the industry. True to its French monicker, Devant is indeed moving ahead.

With Filipinos slowly growing more and more open to high-quality entertainment in their homes, Techpoint Enterprise hopes to capitalize and bring cutting-edge products and developments in the audio-visual industry.

TechPoint Enterprise’s first foray into people’s homes started back in 2003 through NextBase. The brand produced disc-based players and the experimental DVD tablet player, which it hoped would set a new standard with in-car entertainment.

Devant, on the other hand, joined the fray in 2007, upping the ante with LED monitors, speaker systems, and LCD TVs. The brand was more responsive to consumer needs. Devant brags of being one of the earlier adaptors of the latest in television technology such as LEDTect TV which brags “a symphony of superior technology.”

2013 is the 10th anniversary of TechPoint Enterprise. The company prides itself as having been able to create widespread demand and awareness for its brands and products.

James Ng, general manager of the company, said, “This is a huge milestone for us as a company. Through the years, we have continually enhanced our products, resulting in a more enriched viewing experience for our consumers.

“As we move forward in the industry, we will dedicate all our efforts in further delivering bigger and better products,” he added.

In the midst of celebrating 10 years of audio-visual excellence, TechPoint Enterprise enters the Smart 3D TV market with a bang with the 55WIZ830 — a behemoth of a television. It’s a 55-inch TV that promises full 1080p HD, an immersive 3D experience, Internet browsing, and video streaming.

Devant does not forget that it caters to Filipinos who seek home theater experiences at affordable prices. Offerings from this cheaper LED TV line include the 50-inch 50GL510 and the 40-inch 40GL510. Both promise HD videos at 1080p.

Special bundles of the TVs are also packaged with surround sound speaker systems and BluRay or HDMI DVD players.

But Devant is not stopping there. In a couple of months it will be releasing its very own Android-powered tablet. Dubbed the Devant D-Tab, it will come in seven-inch, eight-inch, and 10-inch varieties.

Last June 11, in a media roundtable in Greenbelt, representatives of Devant expressed that they would be expanding and reaching out to Filipinos to bring them the best value for their money with home entertainment systems. They also hope to tackle the state-of-the-art 4K TV technology soon.

On top of that, TechPoint Enterprise will be having a treat in store for its loyal patrons and partners for its 10th anniversary celebration in Opus Restaurant and Lounge in Resorts World Manila tomorrow.
