MANILA, Philippines - HP recently unveiled new offerings designed to help retailers create an exciting, seamless customer experience across multiple store touch-points.
HP offered attendees to the National Retail Federation convention a first-hand look at the company’s wide range of retail-focused products and services, including point-of-sale solutions, digital signage, analy-tics software, managed print services, and mobility solutions.
The offerings were showcased as part of HP’s Seamless Customer Experience demonstration at the National Retail Federation convention.
The demonstration was HP’s representation of an ideal store environment where every retail touch-point — be it the point of sale, a digital display, a retail-ready tablet or kiosk — engages with the customer in a consistent and integrated way.
“Many retailers are creating much more interactive environments for shoppers with HP’s technologies designed to engage customers throughout their entire shopping experience,” said Ray Carlin, vice president and general manager of HP’s Retail Solutions Global Business Unit.
“HP is increasingly becoming the portfolio of choice for retailers who want open, leading-edge technology that is affordable and backed by best-in-class software partners, including Microsoft and Retalix,” Carlin added.
HP offerings at the National Retail Federation Convention and Expo included:
• The mobile POS solution based on the HP Slate 2 tablet running the Windows operating system, which combines a barcode scanner and magnetic strip reader into a secure case to enable sales and other store associate applications.
• The two new 47-inch ultra-micro bezel video wall displays HP LD4730 and LD4730G feature innovative HP display technology to showcase stunning content, as demonstrated by retail innovator Chico’s. Both wall displays use simplified Video–Over–Ethernet (VOE), an HP exclusive video input, to manage and deploy network-attached digital signage displays and reduce deployment cost.
• The HP Presentation Barcode Scanner, a high performance on-counter presentation scanner which can read most common 1D and 2D barcodes, and the HP Linear Barcode Scanner, an entry-level linear scanner that is affordable, durable and can read normal and distressed 1D barcodes. Both scanners can read barcodes presented on mobile devices.
Also highlighted at the show was HP’s full line of retail-hardened POS terminals, including the rp5800, rp3000 and the all-in-one ap5000, along with the full complement of HP peripherals.
