Novare gives back to developer community with open source SDK

MANILA, Philippines - As a premiere consulting and software engineering company delivering innovative solutions for the telecommunications and enterprise businesses, Novare Technologies recently donated to the Wholesale Application Community (WAC) an open source Software Development Kit (SDK) for BlackBerry devices incorporating WAC’s NAPI specifications for in-application billing.

The SDK brings to developers the ability for subscribers to pay for applications and other items using their prepaid load or charge their postpaid bill.

Novare created this SDK to provide the BlackBerry developer community with the necessary tools to participate in the WAC eco-system.

In the Philippines in particular, application developers for the BlackBerry can now take advantage of this SDK. Instead of requiring a PayPal account or a credit card, for purchasing apps, subscribers can now easily charge this to their prepaid balance or their monthly bill.

With more than 48 companies as its current members, including Smart Communications, the WAC is an organization that creates a unified and open platform, allowing mobile software developers to easily write applications usable on a variety of devices, operating systems, and networks.

Utilizing Web-based technologies rather than relying on developers to write native applications for specific devices, the overall WAC alliance aims to enable the development of more applications across a much wider range of devices. It also targets at making certain telecom APIs available to developers, such as those for operator billing.

Novare offers its clients a comprehensive and focused approach to strategy development, solutions architecture, and business model implementation through its “Think, Build, Run” methodology.

With over 130 professionals, Novare continues to grow as a trusted strategic consultant and IT solutions partner of some of the most prestigious names in the telecommunications and financial services companies in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and the United States.
