Whirlpool cited anew for energy efficiency

MANILA, Philippines -  In its 100 years of bringing top-of-the-line, high-quality and durable appliances all over the world, Whirlpool takes pride as well in being one of the international appliance brands recognized for consistently promoting energy efficiency.

For 12 straight years, Whirlpool has been conferred with top honors from the Energy Star Awards, a prestigious award-giving body spearheaded by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy honoring organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy efficiency products and practices.

Whirlpool’s recent win was a 2011 Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership in offering consumers energy and water efficiency through the company’s leading home appliance products.

“The award is really another great honor for Whirlpool Corp. as it continues its legacy and commitment to providing families all over the world with products that are not only of top quality, but more importantly, also help protect the environment,” said Joy Catiis-Cruz, marketing manager of Whirlpool in the Philippines.

The award was the company’s 11th top Energy Star award and sixth consecutive Sustained Excellence win. Whirlpool has been honored with 23 Energy Star awards overall, more than any other appliance manufacturer.

The award reflects Whirlpool’s commitment to energy efficiency. Every Energy Star Whirlpool product is engineered to be energy efficient, using 30 percent less energy without sacrificing superb performance consumers have come to count on.

Through Whirlpool’s range of Energy Star products, families can save about a third on their energy bill, without sacrificing product efficiency, features, style and comfort.

This international recognition coincides with Whirlpool’s 100th anniversary this year.
