Whirlpool washer still functional at 30

MANILA, Philippines - A normal washing machine’s life span would usually last from five to seven years at the most with daily use. But for Rhodora Gutierrez, a retired CPA and now a full-time housewife, it’s a different story. She has actually maintained and retained her Whirlpool washing machine for 30 years now, still in good and running condition.

As the winner in the washer category in the recent Search for the Oldest Whirlpool Appliance by Whirlpool Philippines, Gutierrez has this to say:

“I decided to purchase a washer when my house helper left as I was having a hard time doing chores and working as a CPA at the same time. Although I did not have an idea that my washer will last through the years, I decided to buy the Whirlpool brand because it was reputed to be one of the best brands in the appliance market. My Whirlpool washer has been very helpful; I never had a need to get a helper since then.”

Gutierrez described her Whirlpool washer as durable and dependable. She believes she did not make a mistake in choosing the brand as it had withstood the test of time.

She never had it repaired, except for the knob which had loosened a little; otherwise, no major repairs have been done since it was purchased.

Because of this, she purchased a dryer of the same Whirlpool brand, which accordingly, is as equally functional and durable as the washer, having been with her for 21 years now.

For winning the search, Gutierrez received a top-of-the-line 10.5 kg heavy duty washer.
