Confab to help brands cope with mobile market

MANILA, Philippines - Two big industry associations have joined hands to bring solutions to a problem of how to make brands keep up with a market that is now getting more and more mobile.

The solutions will come from a panel of foreign and local experts who are invited to speak in the Mobile Marketing Conference slated at the Hotel InterContinental, Makati City on April 7-8.

Organized by the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) and the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) Philippine Council, the conference will bring out the latest, most powerful and cutting-edge strategies, industry situationer, best practices, case studies, technologies and tools, success stories, and landmark developments in mobile marketing.

All of these outputs will provide updates on the latest industry trends, forecasts and opportunities, thus enabling conference participants to plan, develop, execute, and measure innovative mobile marketing campaigns.

“The conference will be attended by 250 to 300 participants from the Philippines’ top local and multinational companies, industry professionals, and key stakeholders in the mobile marketing industry,” said Jose Manuel Fernando, chairman of the Mobile Marketing Conference and director of IMMAP.

“The topic sessions and exhibits will showcase the latest technologies and platforms, as well as the best case studies in mobile marketing, featuring a diverse host of resource speakers — all of them industry leaders and innovators,” said IMMAP president Hans Eric Roxas-Chua.

Mobile marketing experts and thought leaders to be featured in the conference include Michael Smith Jr., Yahoo! director for Global Tech Initiatives; Ernest Cu, president and CEO of Globe Telecom Inc.; Jerome Almirante, head of VAS and data services of Smart Communications Inc.; Rajiv Hiranandani, co-founder and executive director of Altruist-Mobile2Win; Rohit Dadwal, managing director of the Asia Pacific Mobile Marketing Association; Frederic Levy, associate director of NetBooster Asia; Barney Loehnis, chairman of MMA-Asia Pacific; Fabrizio Caruso, vice president for business development and general manager for Asia-Pacific of Out There Media; Teresita Tan, executive vice president of the Bank of the Philippine Islands; Rhomel Marcojos, senior marketing manager of Nokia Philippines; and Margot Torres, vice president for marketing of Golden Arches Development Corp. (McDonalds), among others.

With the theme “The Market is Mobile: Can Your Brand Keep Up?,” the conference is especially designed for marketers, advertisers, entrepreneurs, content providers, brand managers, and executives of telecommunications companies, media agencies, consumer groups, small and medium enterprises, and other corporate entities.
