Sandbox users keep tabs on polls via Web, mobile

-

MANILA, Philippines - As the entire country kept close watch over the events of last Monday’s elections through TV and radio, many tech-savvy Filipinos did so through their mobile phones and computers.

Pagbabago 2010, the nationwide election coverage of the TV5 network, was streamed live on the Web and on mobile, exclusively for the benefit and information of all Sandbox users.

Users of Sandbox, the online entertainment and info portal powered by Smart Communications Inc., took advantage of the up-to-the-minute Web and mobile streaming of Pagbabago 2010, as early as 5 a.m. on election day.

On the Web, Sandbox registered users who had Internet connection via their computer just had to log on to www.mysandbox.com and click on the Pagbabago 2010 link, or go to www.mysandbox.com/elections to gain free access to the video reports streamed live and gathered by the TV5 network from all over the country.

Those who needed the convenience of mobile access to the Sandbox streaming just had to use their Smart handset to connect to the Sandbox Mobile site and click on the Pagbabago 2010 link, to gain access to the high-speed, mobile streaming of TV5’s video reports, at the standard rate of P15 for every 30 minutes.

Now enjoyed by over 300,000 registered users, Smart introduced Sandbox to offer social networking, rich media content downloading, and other Web services such as instant messaging, all under one online and engaging portal.

Accessible via PCs, laptops and mobile phones, Sandbox offers the convenience and innovation of choice content — such as videos, songs, and games — delivered straight to the subscriber’s cellphone.
