Filipino SAS exec to steer emerging markets
MANILA, Philippines - SAS, a leader in business analytics software and services, has appointed Sonny Halili to command the SAS operations in Indonesia and Vietnam, in addition to the Philippines.
The organization is looking to Halili’s leadership to establish Indonesia and Vietnam as rapidly emerging countries while continuing the success in the Philippine subsidiary.
Halili has been with the company for six years. Under his watch as managing director, SAS Philippines’ revenue turnover increased seven times and maintained an average year-on-year income growth of 40 percent in the last six years.
With Halili’s guidance, SAS Philippines has also been named Top Performing Country of the Year four times and established the SAS Center of Excellence (COE) for the Asia-Pacific.
The COE is a resource pool of SAS consultants available globally for deployment in other SAS projects.
The COE has successfully deployed SAS Filipino consultants in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia.
Halili’s appointment is significant as he is the first Filipino to be given a regional leadership role.
“This is in recognition for the performance and commitment of SAS Philippines as well,” said Halili.
“This is an excellent opportunity for SAS Philippines to replicate its success in other countries and for Filipinos to showcase their talents globally and I look forward to exciting times ahead as we expand our horizons and discover greater possibilities,” he added.
SAS continued its unbroken chain of growth in 2008, logging global revenue of $2.26 billion.
