MANILA, Philippines - Webcast Technologies Inc. offers a powerful fleet management tool, the TrackMe System, where new technologies such as Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Geographical Information System (GIS), Telemetry, the Internet, and various telecommunications networks seamlessly converge.
Webcast, though its TrackMe Analytics and Base Station Operator Worry-free Program, now partners with Cemex to provide management reports with charts and maps as crucial inputs to the management of their assets.
Vehicle tracking is the main benefit that GPS offers. The initial phase of the program will concentrate on ensuring that all time-chartered transport units in Luzon are equipped with GPS transceivers.
GPS will be used in conjunction with communication links and computers that can provide the backbone for systems tailored to vehicle tracking.
More and more world-class companies are availing themselves of Webcast’s TrackMe system to pinpoint the location of their vehicles on a digital map.
Moreover, the system has customized features that cater to the need of dispatching officers, who can then easily monitor the route assignment, speed, distance traveled, and client turnaround time of the vehicles enrolled, so they can respond immediately and effectively to any situation.
The next phase of the program is to install TrackMe units in all transport units in the Visayas and Mindanao.
To formalize the deal, Edwin Hufemia, Cemex vice president for commercial and logistics, and Bernardo Abis, Webcast chief operating officer, signed the contract last March 6.
Witnessing the signing were Mike Teotico, Cemex manager for logistics development; Leon Lainez, Cemex project lead for logistics development; Eric Baseleres, Webcast sales and marketing head; and Maida Rebellon, Webcast account manager.
