e-Games' Domination III an even bigger success

-

MANILA, Philippines - IP e-Game Ventures Inc. (e-Games) has yet again set another gaming milestone with Domination III, the biggest gaming event of 2009 and e-Games’ third year anniversary celebration.

Close to 21,000 gamers attended Domination III, more than the phenomenal 18,000 people who attended Domination II last year.

Gil Edeza, COO of e-Games, said the success of Domination III was a huge testament to the incredible support of the e-Games and X-Play community.

“Our gamers went out to gather and play at this gaming event. We thank everyone who supported this event,” Edeza said.

Held last April 4 at the SMX Convention Center, Domination III upped the ante from last year’s celebration, with more games, more live tournaments, offline activities, and bigger prizes.

Domination III became the “e-Games universe of online games” and made sure that the venue reflected the theme for this anniversary celebration.

Games, freeplays, freebies and other activities kept thousands of e-Gamers and X-Players busy and happy. More than 200 PCs were made available for freeplay.

RAN Online, CABAL Online, Granado Espada, ZX Online: Journey to Immortality, Nostale, Audition Dance Battle and O2Jam product teams held their online tournaments and contests for their gamers at their respective booths.

Meanwhile, the NBA Street Online team hosted their own game demo at their booth and also included a half-court basketball shootout as one of its side activities.

The winners of these tournaments received coveted in-game items, gift packs from Globe, ePoints and cash prizes. For O2Jam, they gave a total of P50,000 to their tournament winners plus in-game items.

Aside from the tournaments, RAN Online raffled off a motorized scooter and a top-of-the-line PC, while CABAL Online gave away an entertainment/multimedia notebook computer, a mobile phone and an Apple iPod player.

One lucky player from ZX Online: Journey to Immortality, and another from Granado Espada won Hong Kong and Singapore trips, respectively. They also raffled off top-of-the-line graphics cards and LCD monitors.

Audition Dance Battle held their own set of activities and gave away thousands of ePoints and an electronic GoPed.

During the latter half of the event, George Royeca, VP for X-Play, announced the O2JAM Idol contest where budding rock bands can submit their original music compositions, have their music heard by hundreds of thousands of players every day and stand to win P100,000. The winning band will also be part of the O2JAM Album Tour.

Royeca also announced the Audition Dance Battle and GMA Network’s Sunday Show S.O.P. joining forces to bring Audition Celebrity Dance Battle, where S.O.P. stars will dance and perform some of the moves from Audition Dance Battle and vie for the top spot to win P100,000, 50 percent of which will be given to charity — IP Foundation, through its healthcare beneficiary Family Vaccine Specialty Clinic.

“X-Play is going full steam with Audition Dance Battle Season 2 and its great partners and programs but also we’re relaunching O2JAM to be the leading online beat music game in the country. We also have some major announcements in the coming months and it’ll be big,” Royeca said.

Aside from the thrilling activities, GMA Kapuso Stars made special appearances and even performed for the Domination III crowd. Band performances from Hymn of Siren, Hilera, Sandwich, Paraluman, Dice & K9 and Rivermaya kept the music playing throughout the entire event. Flipballaz and Beatboxer entertained everyone with their amazing skills, much to the delight of the audience.

Cosplay, which has become one of the much awaited segments in the program since the first Domination, wowed the crowd again as cosplayers paraded their costumes based on popular movies and shows and e-Games titles, too.

Cosplay princess and ZX Online: Journey to Immortality endorser Alodia Gosiengfiao also had something to share with her supporters in her very own fans’ day event.

But e-Games did more than just provide gaming and showbiz entertainment and prizes. e-Games also spent time in granting the requests of kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation.

e-Games’ VP for marketing Ed Pasion personally gave brand new PCs to two chronically ill teenagers so they could study and play games as well.

“It’s been a yearly tradition and we feel that granting the wishes of kids from the Make-a-Wish Foundation makes this annual event more than just gaming, it’s about reaching out to people in whatever situation or condition they are in and letting them enjoy the event and more,” Pasion said.

To cater to players across the country who weren’t able to join the gaming event, e-Games set up the Domination III Live Blog and Live Stream to give them the updates and news as it happened during the event.

e-Games also announced the e-Gamer Millionaire promo which aims to give e-Gamers and X-Players the chance to win huge monthly EP prizes and a whopping P1 million, too.

“All the gamer has to do is buy an e-Games ePoint card, top up and then keep the card. That’s basically your raffle coupon. The more ePoints you buy, the bigger your chance of winning monthly prizes and becoming the first e-Gamer millionaire. This is another way for e-Games to give back to the community who have supported us throughout the three years we have been operating,” Pasion said.

Pasion said next year’s Domination will be another landmark event. “Blazing to Domination, Road to Domination mall tours and three Dominations events, and we’re just warming up. Expect future events to be bigger, more exciting and thrilling,” he said.
