Nortel solutions help make business simple

Innovations in communications technology over the years have made people across the world seem closer than they are. Today’s means of communication may be making the world relatively smaller than it used to be, but the potential for bigger ways to communicate is a lot larger today. Take, for example, Nortel — its communications solutions have scaled the world down to “just a click away.”

Nortel, a Canadian company, is a recognized leader in delivering communications solutions that make the promise of “business made simple” a reality for its customers. With more than 100 years in the international market, it has proven its worth in providing next-generation technologies for service providers and enterprise networks, as well as supporting multimedia and business-critical applications.

In the Philippines, Nortel has more than 20 years of experience when it comes to providing communications solutions for contact centers, government institutions, and other industry leaders as well.

“We are proud to say that we have really delivered quality services. Some of our clients, like the DBP (Development Bank of the Philippines), will celebrate their 25th year of acquiring our services next year,” says Mandy Pascual, enterprise director of Nortel Philippines.

Aside from DBP, Nortel has also contributed to the development of a number of contact centers in the country. Pascual says they started providing state-of-the-art communications solutions to their clients during the call center industry’s boom in 1999. Nortel customizes communications system to keep up with the evolving needs of its clients and their respective industries.

Even the medical sector benefits from Nortel’s services like the Unified Communications Solutions (UCS). Medical City, for example, enjoys the UCS technology, which makes information accessible to authorized personnel wherever they may be in the facility. As long as doctors, nurses, patients, and personnel are connected to the network through an Internet connection, the data they need will always be just a click away, speeding up the whole medical process exponentially.

Nortel owns the broadest portfolio of UCS solutions in the market. Unlike its competitors, the company has an all-in-one solution to almost all communications concerns.

“Nortel has all the needed system information and equipment, so all components of our technologies always work seamlessly,” Pascual says.

The latest addition to Nortel’s exemplary portfolio is the Office Communication Server (OCS) 2007, a UCS system built around Microsoft-developed hardware as a result of the two companies’ Innovative Communications Alliance (ICA).

This yearlong partnership between Microsoft and Nortel has been warmly welcomed all over the world by clients like the Indiana University, Worcestershire Health Information and Communications Services, and 4ward.

OCS showcases various features like the Nortel Converged Office, a system that integrates Nortel’s comprehensive telephony sets with Microsoft solutions, providing instant communication to tens of thousands of users connected to the system.

OCS also enables the use of Nortel Multimedia Conferencing 5, a program that allows anyone to conduct audio-video conferences and monitor office affairs wherever they may be in the world.
