A state-of-the-art technology is now changing the way corporate Philippines looks at production and presentation.
WATCHOUT is a multi-display production and presentation system which combines multiple projectors or other display devices with standard computer (PC or Macintosh) and network technologies to create breathtaking presentations of virtually any size. It provides previously unattainable image quality and resolution.
“We believe that the Philippine market is ready for what WATCHOUT can offer,” says Mart Miranda, president of Video Sonic Corporate Communications, one of the country’s most-in-demand production companies.
“We no longer have to worry about image size and resolution. We can now work with just about any venue configurations without sacrificing video and audio qualities. Clients who have tried it only have praises for the final outcome,” Miranda adds.
WATCHOUT can be used with plasmas, monitors or video cubes to build a unique presentation set or with video projectors for giant, seamless panoramas for as big as 9 x 42 feet, 16 x 35 feet or 24 x 40 feet. As you add more displays, you also add more CPUs to drive those displays. Displays can be placed horizontally or vertically in any shape or form.
The production computer uses a familiar timeline interface to build the show. It then distributes the media files through the network to the display computers to run the show.
It utilizes the full resolution of existing projectors, monitors, video wall cubes or LEDs, resulting in unparalleled image quality. You can layer stills and video, apply transparency, scaling and motion as you deem necessary.
It also allows the arrangement of displays at any angle, shape or form. Build walls or mosaics of individual displays, use vertically oriented displays for a poster look or mix display technologies like plasmas and projectors for a truly unique appearance.
Overlapping projectors are automatically edge-blended. WATCHOUT accounts for the gap between displays and allows you to mix different pixel densities. The built-in, mesh-warping geometry correction handles curved screens with ease.
“With WATCHOUT, we can project on corners without distortion. If needed, we can wrap the projection around the whole venue,” Miranda explains.
WATCHOUT reads most media file formats for still images, video and audio. Produce text and images in Photoshop. Create and edit video at any resolution in After Effects, Final Cut or similar software. Mix multiple stereo or surround-sound audio files. WATCHOUT brings it all together, adding real-time effects such as motion paths, opacity, scaling, rotation, colorization, cropping, splitting image, distribution, and volume.
Integrate video fed live from a video camera. WATCHOUT accepts anything from composite and S-Video to 720 and 1080 HD using SDI inputs, all with the lowest possible latency. Likewise, one can bring a live PowerPoint presentation or other computer feed straight into a wide-screen presentation.
WATCHOUT connects to touch panels such as TOUCHDOWN, and other control systems, using TCP/IP, SMPTE time code or serial data connections. Use multiple display clusters at museums or other venues where independent display areas are needed. Built-in remote management functions let you interact with all computers from one location.
WATCHOUT handles most still image, video and sound file formats, including PhotoShop, JPEG, BMP, PNG, PICT, Targa, TIFF, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DV, QuickTime, AVI, AIFF, and WAV. It supports transparency (alpha channel) in both still images and video.
