The system will initially provide mobile voice and data services, fully integrated with the corporate communications network, on 2G/3G mobile devices as well as dual-mode mobile/Wi-Fi devices.
Fixed and mobile operators can implement the Enterprise Mobility Gateway to roll out integrated mobile enterprise services over existing networks and future IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks.
It gives them high-speed access to the rapidly emerging market for fixed mobile convergence among medium to large enterprise customers.
Urban Gillström, head of Ericsson Enterprise, says, "With the Enterprise Mobility Gateway, we’re offering operators an easy-to-implement and cost-effective way to help their enterprise customers mobilize their resources. It represents the first significant step in delivering fully converged, multimedia enterprise services based on open standard IMS architecture."
The Enterprise Mobility Gateway can be deployed as an open integrated solution for any IP-PBX  either as customer premises equipment or as a hosted service  in a way that reuses existing investments.
It enables enterprises to take advantage of the proven Ericsson One Phone concept, which simplifies communications by integrating all communication devices into one consolidated IP communications infrastructure  with the proven benefits of reduced total cost of ownership, increased employee efficiency and enhanced customer satisfaction.
With Enterprise Mobility Gateway installed, business people can use their mobile devices as highly capable extensions to their corporate communications network while on the move.
With a traditional mobile phone, they have access to PBX functions like conference calling and call forwarding. Using a smartphone, dual-mode mobile/Wi-Fi phone or laptop computer further enhances user experiences with directory search, presence information, click to dial, remote management, soft buttons and dynamic least-cost routing and SIP-based services.
