Xavier tops DPC contest

Music has and will always be a part of our lives. Never is this more evident than in today’s youth, whose passion for music is manifested in their strong support for music videos.

To add more fun to music and encourage creativity as well, Directories Philippines Corp. (DPC) recently conduc—ted the Infotainment Com—petition, which culminated in the Infotainment Awards.

The Infotainment Compe—tition was designed to encou—rage junior and senior high school students to submit a project proposal to create a music video.

Participants made use of all DPC services like the printed yellow pages, the e-yellow pages, and the mobile yellow pages. This is part of DPC’s thrust to communicate the value of information to students.

The Infotainment Awards represented the final round of the competition, where five teams of students presented their propo—sals in a creative manner to a panel of judges comprised of Quark Henares, RA Rivera, Mads Adrias, Jun Sabayto, and Miguel Silerio.

Grand prize winner was Xavier School. First runner-up was the Tugatog National High School, and the second runner-up, Las Piñas East National High School.

Finalists were the Makati Science High School and Parañaque Science High School.

The other schools that took part in the competition included the Abada Esteban High School Manila, Bagong Silangan High School, Camp E. Aguinaldo High School, Elizabeth Seton School Las Piñas, Fort Bonifacio High School, F. Torres High School, Kalayaan High School, Malabon National High School, Notre Dame School, Our Lady of Lourdes Novaliches High School, Pedro Diaz High School, and St. Paul’s Pasig.
