GlobeQUEST partners with SEIPI

GlobeQUEST, the corporate business group of Innove Communications Inc., has renewed its partnership with the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (SEIPI), the countrys leading and largest organization of foreign and local semiconductor and electronics companies.
"We started with plain sponsorships to their general membership meetings two years ago. From there, we began to have a more active participation on a sustained level last year. We were there for all their major activities. This year, we will continue to do so but with added focus and emphasis on the networking committees," said Jesus Romero, GlobeQUEST head.
SEIPI has nine networking committees that share best practices of specific line of business operations of the member-companies.
Of the nine, GlobeQUEST will work primarily with the Association of SEIPI Information Technology Executives and Professionals, SEIPI Traffic Managers Association, and the Association of SEIPI Associate and Affiliate Members (ASAAM).
"We feel that these networking committees would be the most to benefit from ICT solutions in solving their real-life business challenges. We could expect more interfaces with them as we work closely in delivering segment-specific solutions to semicon-ductors and electronics manufac-turers here," Romero said.
By doing so, Romero is confident that GlobeQUEST will have a more realistic picture of how IT managers, import and export managers, and the other suppliers of the industry would utilize ICT solutions in their day-to-day operations.
So far, GlobeQUEST has rolled out and will continue to roll out Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) hot spots to areas requested by the organization for their users to have wireless broadband access outside their respective offices.
GlobeQUEST has also partnered with Intel, one of the SEIPI members, in the testing and deployment of WiMax (Wireless Interoperability for Microwave Access), a wireless metropolitan-area network on 802.16 primarily aimed to make high-speed broadband wireless connection widely available without the distance limitations of digital subscriber lines.
