HP Premium Plus photo paper: Making photos last for life

-
Photos are fragments of people’s lives preserved for posterity. Today’s candid photos are tomorrow’s stuff of legend, that’s why it’s necessary to ensure that these tactile manifestations of memories last a long time.

HP, one of the leading technology solutions providers, presents the next best thing to forever with HP Premium Plus Photo Paper, its highest performance photo paper which delivers everything you expect from store-processing and more.

Offering not just lightfastness but also permanence, the paper is said to last for generations. In terms of years, the time it takes for the HP Photo Paper to fade may vary. However, the levels of permanence are outstanding nonetheless, with figures going up to as high as 115 years.

HP carefully considered all factors related to permanence. The key factors include:

• Thermal Degradation (also known as dark fade since it does not require light to occur). HP inkjet colorants are very stable at room temperature. In fact, even after 200 years of simulated storage at 25 degrees Celsius, there is no noticeable change in the colored areas.

• Air Fade (or fade caused by airborne pollutant). HP has chosen to use a special, self-sealing inkjet coating on HP Premium and HP Premium Plus photo paper. This coating encapsulates the colors, thus preventing significant air fade when prints are displayed in regular contact with air.

• Humidity fastness. Currently, there is no official standard for calculating equivalent years of display as a function of humidity exposure. However, HP has tested its inks on HP Premium Plus and Premium photo paper, and has found the resistance to humidity-induced color changes to be good.
