GlobeQUEST IDC boosts network security

Innove Communications has tapped Juniper Networks and Nera Philippines for the delivery of a comprehensive protection solution to combat unauthorized intrusions, malicious Internet worms, and other network security attacks that may be conducted on the GlobeQUEST Internet Data Center (IDC).

Using Juniper’s Intrusion Detection and Protection (IDP) system through NERA Philippines as the local networking solutions provider, GlobeQUEST IDC becomes the first in the country to guarantee the complete protection of data transactions of its corporate clients.

GlobeQUEST IDC currently offers server hosting and co-location, LAN-based Internet, e-mail messaging, business continuity and recovery services and storage services, among others.

With the technology, Globe-QUEST can prevent servers within the IDC from downtime and proactively block attacks at the slightest instance of threat before they bring harm to its own network and the customers’ networks.

The system can also trace user activity from point of entry to point of exit, including its impact.

Since the IDP system is capable of preventing any attempt to compromise the IDC’s mission-critical servers and applications, GlobeQUEST clients are assured of safe business transactions through the Web, said Jesus Romero, GlobeQUEST head.

"These days, hackers and other malicious users abound and they are always looking for network vulnerability. But we are confident that with the IDP system in place, our customers would have protection from both known and unknown cyber threats," Romero said.

"They would also have worry-free and secured database. At the same time, end-users would see an improvement in customer real-time and mission-critical applications such as voice and video because of better network efficiency," he added.
