New Cyber-shot T5 for the fashionista

We’ve heard of extras upstaging the main model at a photo shoot, but a camera doing the scene-stealing? That’s not a far-fetched scenario with Sony’s colorful new line of Cyber-shot T5 digital cameras.

But this newest addition to the Cyber-shot line of lifestyle cameras does more than just turn heads with its sleek and eye-catching design. It also has more of everything: power, speed, versatility and value.

"Sony has come up with the fuss-free and affordable Cyber-shot T5. Its exhilarating colors – cool silver, elegant gold, designer black and vibrant red – provide users a more personalized feel and a chance to express themselves. We’re expecting it to become a hit among the younger age group, especially the stylish, fashionista crowd," says Twinkle Rafael, Sony Philippines’ product manager of PAV Group.

The T5 merges stylish design with a wealth of enhanced photographic features. Its 5.1-megapixel resolution and 3x optical or 6x digital zoom provide greater shooting versatility, while a 2.5-m extended flash distance also makes night photography a much more productive undertaking.

You can shoot high-quality VGA video clips and share them with friends via e-mail in the video mail mode. And because of a longer battery life compared to its predecessors, you can take as much as 240 shots in a one-charge cycle.

Getting the shot you want is no problem either. The T5 has 10 scene-selection modes as well as a variety of preset scene modes, each optimized for a particular shooting situation, eliminating the need to adjust the camera’s settings manually. The camera’s auto-focus function and built-in "hand shake" alert make for a convenient way to capture moments instantly without compromising picture quality.

The T5’s svelte but robust aluminum chassis, together with the battery and Memory Stick duo, weighs only 139 grams. Its design allows it to fit inside your pocket or handbag, or wear it around your neck (its unique vertical design makes it a fashionable accessory).

The T5 boasts a Carl Zeiss lens and a large 2.5-inch Clear Photo LCD with a 230,400-dot pixel screen for sharp and brilliant images whether in dimly lit surroundings or in the bright outdoors. It also has a 32MB internal memory.

In keeping with the stylish theme, the Sony Cyber-shot T5 was formally introduced to the public via a grand launch last week at the Rockwell Tent that coincided with the announcement of the 10 finalists of the Ford Supermodel of the World-Philippines, of which Sony is a major presenter.

The Sony Cyber-shot T5 retails for P24,999 and is available at Sony Square in Gateway Mall and Park Square and at all authorized Sony dealers.
