2004 Samsung Cyber Games semis on

The search continues for the grittiest local e-sportsmen who will represent the country in this years World Cyber Games to be held in San Francisco, California later this year.
Dubbed 2004 Samsung Cyber Games, the competition has been attracting hundreds of excited players to network gaming cafés all over Luzon to register and prove their worth in the contest preliminaries.
The battles are sure to be tooth-and-nail as the gamers vie for placement in the semifinals set on July 30-31 at the Glorietta Activity Center.
Contestants will be com-peting in the following events: WarCraft III: Frozen Throne, StarCraft: Brood Wars, Counter-strike: Condition Zero, and Need for Speed: Under-ground.
Samsung Electronics Corp. (SEPCO) is supporting the event for the second straight year. "We believe that Cyber Games is a powerful way of bringing together the global online community," says SEPCO president and CEO Sang Youl Eom.
"The power of technology and sports combined to develop our youth is best seen in the World Cyber Games," he adds.
There are four stops left on the WCG Preliminaries tour. Those interested in the goings-on can catch the next two events at the following dates and locations: July 10, BC Websight, #2-C Molave cor. Anonas sts., Project 3, Quezon City; and July 11, Cyberteria, #365 A. Mabini st., Caloocan City.
