Vitro survives power failures

Vitro Data Center has successfully proven its reliability and the resiliency of its electrical power system in the face of a power crash. The Philippines pioneer Internet data centers dependability was put to the test in three system-wide power outages and made the grade.
During the Luzon-wide blackout on Jan. 21 and two more before that, Vitro Data Centers clients were not affected in any way by the sudden prolonged power failure.
This is because Vitro Data Center, owned and operated by ePLDT, the information and communications technology company of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., has redundancy connections to Manila Electric Co., (Meralco) through four independent substations.
Vitro ensures the seamless transition of power from normal to emergency and back through a feature called the "make before break" transfer. Clients business processing equipment do not detect any switch in power sources because Closed Transition Transfer Switch (CTTS) is the main switching point between power loads. CTTS has the capacity for automatic and uninterrupted transition of power.
