The countrys leading and only regional Internet solutions provider Pacific Internet has opened data centers in Metro Manilas top three central business districts to enable companies to outsource their Internet data service requirements.
The Internet data centers (IDCs) are at the Ortigas Center in Pasig City, Cubao, Quezon City and Makati City.
The IDCs will save Pacific Internets clients from the huge cost of putting up and maintaining their own data centers which require maintaining a highly competent and highly paid staff and expensive technology upgrades.
A data center is a reliable and secure facility for hosting business websites and server operations.
To business firms, keeping their servers up and running 24 hours a day and seven days a week is a must. This entails huge investments in equipment, facility and highly professional manpower.
"The facility itself requires full environmental controls, uninterruptible power supply, high-speed Internet connectivity and non-stop network monitoring, which Pacific Internets IDCs provide," company president Jojie Yap said.
"Aside from Web hosting and server operations, Pacific Internets IDCs offer connectivity, co-location and applications and bandwidth management," Yap added.
In terms of fast international and local connectivity, the data centers are connected to the US and the rest of the world via two satellite links and terrestrial lines. Locally, the IDCs are connected to the Philippine Internet Exchange/MIX and interconnected with the countrys other ISPs.
Offering flexible server co-location options, Pacific Internets IDCs also boasts of CPI Chatsworth racks that support various hardware designs and configurations.
Each IDC is equipped with Vesda FM200 fire suppression system, two 10-ton Libert airconditioning units for environment and climate controls, security door access, redundant uninterrupted power supply and 275 kVA Perkins motor generator as power backup, among other features.
Network activity, applications, CPU, disk space and memory are proactively monitored to ensure that a clients site is always up and running.
As a pioneer in Internet development in Asia, Pacific Internet has been offering data hosting services to other countries since 1995, making it one of the most experienced operators in the region.
