LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Philippines – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños is launching a Southeast Asia-wide photography contest focusing on climate change.
SEARCA is one of 21 regional centers of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), an inter-government treaty body founded in 1965 to promote cooperation among Southeast Asian nations in the fields of education, science, and culture.
The photography contest is open to nationals of the 11 SEAMEO member-countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Theme of the contest is “Climate Change and Agriculture in Southeast Asia: Faces of Vulnerability and Resilience.” Deadline of submission of entries is Nov. 15.
“There are no limits to the number of entries submitted by a contestant provided that these have not won previous photo contests or published elsewhere (print or electronic),” SEARCA said.
Only colored photos will be considered. All entries must be original. Photos must not be digitally altered and/or enhanced in any way other than simple cropping. Watermarked photos will be disqualified.
Each entry should include the photographer’s name and nationality; photo’s caption; where the photograph was taken (town, province, country), when it was taken, and camera used.
