Manila Water, PBFEI partner for water education

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Water Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Manila Water group for areas within Metro Manila and beyond, has received P15,000 worth of book certificates from its newest partner, the Philippine Book Fairs Education Inc. (PBFEI).

The amount will be used to support the foundation’s education programs on water, used water and environmental education.

“In its aim of improving lives through livelihood and education on water and sanitation matters, the foundation sees the value of organizations like PBFEI that are willing to join us in this quest,” said Ferdinand de la Cruz, Manila Water Foundation president.

The PBFEI, sole distributor of Scholastic Book Fairs and Scholastic Education products in the Philippines, puts forward reading as an important tool in knowledge acquisition.

“Reading as a learning approach will complement the foundation’s water education program and this is what we would like to bring in to this partnership,” said Amparo Agosto, managing director of PBFEI.

The PBFEI is among the organizations that participated in the foundation’s Earth Day celebration through a storytelling session for kids and a weeklong book fair.
