MANILA, Philippines - Eight pollution control officers of East Zone concessionaire Manila Water were recognized during the fourth Pollution Control Officers (PCO) Recognition Day organized by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA).
Cited for their outstanding environmental efforts to help in the fight against water pollution were Sharon Cerbito of Manila Water’s North Septage Treatment Plant (San Mateo STP), Jimaima Hoque (Sikatuna STP), Jocelyn General, Johannes Paulus Costales (plant manager fisheries STP), John Von Wernher de la Cruz (Pag-asa STP, Heroes Hill STP), Ninya Kristina Cabico (Belarmino STP, Palosapis STP), Jeremaine Esguerra (East Avenue STP), and Mark Tom Mulingbayan (corporate PCO).
Manila Water’s Operations Group director Geodino Carpio thanked LLDA for the recognition it gave to the water provider’s employees, saying this is a testament to Manila Water’s honest service and commitment to ensure that its personnel are fully equipped and knowledgeable about compliance with environmental standards in performing their duties.
The citation for Manila Water’s pollution control officers further validates the company’s Blue Rating from the LLDA for consistently complying with operational and regulatory standards of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and LLDA for its used water treatment facilities.
