Roche rocks Cebu with ‘Club New You’

MANILA, Philippines - Roche Philippines rocked Cebuanos on a journey to healthy living at the Activity Center of the Ayala Center Cebu recently.

Cebu City was treated to an interactive health expo showing how Filipinos can rock their bodies to a better form by eating right, being fit, and rocking their way to better days by learning from the various health booths — providing tips and special services about the body, diet, workout, beauty and wellness, and “Club New You.”

“Rock The Fat Away” Cebu kicked off with an Indoor Duathlon Challenge by Fitness & Athletics, in cooperation with Chris Sports, featuring a mini-race with a one-kilometer run on the Intensa Treadmill Entertainment Series treadmill, a three-kilometer ride on the Proform Le Tour de France bike, and the final 500-meter run to the finish line on the treadmill.

Fitness enthusiasts took on the challenge to make the best time, a good preparation for the Cebu Ironman 70.3 taking place the following week.

The main program opened with a surprise flash mob, pumping up the party with the catchy hip hop beats of the original campaign track “Rock It! (Rock the Fat Away).”

Rovilson Fernandez and Mitzi Borromeo hosted the main event, rocking everyone to make a commitment to healthier living. They reminded everyone that being health-conscious should always be top priority, even beyond summer beach body season.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has cited obesity as the fifth leading cause of death among adults globally, an alarming rank considering that obesity can be managed through diet monitoring and exercise.

The Rock The Fat Away campaign reminded Cebuanos that they should always keep health among their top personal goals, and that losing weight and maintaining a healthy body weight is possible and fun, especially with Club New You supporting them along the way.

Yoga Hub and The Spa at Cebu provided beauty and wellness tips and services. Jenifer Martinez of Yoga Hub shared healthy food options and demonstrated basic yoga poses with other Yoga Hub teachers. Citigym challenged everyone to pump up their fitness levels through a mini boot camp focusing on core training, using equipment from Fitness and Athletics.
