Maxicare opens bigger Primary Care Center at MMC
MANILA, Philippines - Maxicare has formally opened its new and bigger Primary Care Center (PCC) and exclusive wing at the Makati Medical Center (MMC).
To inaugurate the PCC and exclusive wing, a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing was led by Bishop Raul Martinez. Present during the inauguration were Maxicare Healthcare Corp.’s Roberto Macasaet, MD, founder and chairman of the board; Antonio Go, vice chairman; and Jose Pastor Puno, president and CEO. Also present was Rose Montenegro, president and CEO of the Makati Medical Center.
Established in April 1999, the Maxicare PCC at MMC had humble beginnings and could only accommodate 300 member-patients a day.
Despite its size, the PCC became one of the most-visited Maxicare PCC. This prompted Maxicare to upgrade to a bigger and better PCC that is now located on the third floor of MMC Tower 1.
The new PCC now occupies twice of the floor area with more counters and internal medicine physicians that can serve twice as many members as the old PCC, enabling Maxicare to provide better service to its members.
The new PCC complements the Maxicare exclusive wing in MMC, which was opened in 2012. Maxicare is the first and only HMO in the Philippines with an exclusive wing in two of the country’s premier hospitals.
The exclusive wing gives Maxicare members priority and privileged treatment through 21 rooms with regular private and large private categories.
The Maxicare PCC and exclusive wing form part of Maxicare’s continuous efforts to serve its members better. Both facilities at MMC will continue to provide Maxicare members with access to customer service associates, primary care physicians specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics, and additional services such as laboratory and ECG to administer immediate and exclusive services on members’ needs.
Maxicare’s exclusive wings are located in Makati Medical Center and The Medical City to give its members easy access to quality diagnostics, specialist consultation and hospitalization when needed.
Maxicare has 12 PCCs, including an affiliate clinic, MyHealth, at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Chinese General Hospital, Filomena building in Makati, Makati Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City, St. Luke’s Medical Center-Quezon City, The Medical City, MyHealth Clinic-EDSA Shangri-La, MyHealth Clinic-Festival Supermall, MyHealth Clinic-North EDSA, MyHealth Clinic-Calamba, and MyHealth Clinic-Cebu.
