MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Southern Luzon 4-A will celebrate its 48th anniversary today in Los Baños.
The anniversary will start with the blessing of the Regional Food Safety and Quality Assurance Center on Jamboree Road and will be attended by Reps. Joseph Emilio Abaya (first district, Cavite) and Justin Mark Chipeco (second district, Laguna), and Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo.
DOST Undersecretary Dr. Carol Yorobe, DOST Assistant Secretary Robert Dizon and Eduardo Nicolas III, regional governor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will grace the event, said Dr. Alexander Madrigal, DOST regional director.
They will unveil the third Centennial Marker citing the 300th unit of the biogas digester designed and developed by DOST 4-A.
The biogas digesters have been put up in livestocks farms in Southern, Northern and Central Luzon and Central Philippines.
The DOST regional program on low glycemic palm sugar will be launched by chief science research specialist Lydia Manguiat.
