Cebu barangay folk receive free medical, dental services from Aboitiz Foundation
MANILA, Philippines - Some 650 residents of Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City recently availed themselves of free medical and dental services provided by the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., in partnership with radio station dyHP.
Residents received free tooth extraction and medical consultation from volunteer doctors and nurses. They were also given free medicine and dental kits from the foundation.
The foundation and dyHP held the dental mission to promote the well being of the barangay residents. It was also one of the activities to commemorate dyHP’s 59th founding anniversary.
Fifteen dentists from the Philippine Dental Association-Cebu Chapter volunteered to perform tooth extractions while employees of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. and other volunteers assisted during the procedure.
Employees of dyHP and nursing students from St. Paul College were also present to lend their services to the barangay residents.
Medical and dental missions, which fall under the Aboitiz Foundation’s primary health and child care program, aim to provide quality health care to those cannot afford it.
The Aboitiz Foundation is the corporate foundation of the Aboitiz Group with social development initiatives focused on education, enterprise development, primary health and child care, and the environment.
