UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card: A tool for stress-free health care

-

MANILA, Philippines - Health care is without a doubt, a worldwide concern of the modern age. Gone are the days when families just lived day to day without any thought of preparing for bad days, the worst of which are when a family member gets sick.

But when you have a health care partner that offers a privilege card that’s handy and readily offers not just hospitalization services but also outpatient medical attention, checkups, and other services, plus of course, discounts on hospital bills, the stress dissipates and one starts to live in greater peace and confidence.

What more if the card is issued and honored by a trusted, friendly hospital known for competent and personalized service proven for over three decades?

The University of Perpetual Help Dalta Medical Center (UPHDMC) is one such institution. Serving the health needs of many Filipino families, particularly those living south of Manila for the past 35 years, it recently launched the UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card, a pioneering effort for the hospital as it is the first privilege card of its kind in the medical services sector offered directly by a medical institution.

“At UPHDMC, we go the extra mile to reach out to people within our community and outreach programs seeking to bring health care and health awareness to the doorstep of households,” said Dr. Antonio Tamayo, UPHDMC chairman and CEO.

Tamayo said the UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card is one of their many ways of contributing to the promotion of health care and a state of wellness among Filipino families because holders of this card at the outset already get the assurance that they will always have UPHDMC to run to for any of their health concerns and that the hospital has made medical investments and hospitalization billings so much lighter on people’s pockets.

“The UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card provides assurance that the health of the cardholder and his or her beneficiaries has standby protection, which is a very reassuring feeling,” Tamayo said.

He added that the UPHDMC website will soon include a way for the UPHDMC Privilege Card applications and inquiries to be done online.

“Just like our Find-a-Doctor online directory, this is in consonance with our philosophy of ‘Personalizing Health Care for Everyone’ at UPHDMC. Of course, those who wish to just walk in and apply for the privilege card may do so,” he said.

The UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card aims to increase the health consciousness of the community, thus rewarding the patients when they take care of their health. It aims to build for UPHDMC bridges for continuing relationships with their patients.

Under the mechanics of the privilege card, according to Jun Amistoso, UPHDMC chief marketing officer, people get value for money by getting points that can be converted to hospital services or outright discount for hospital billing.

“The UPHDMC Perpetual Care Privilege Card seeks to encourage people within the communities surrounding UPHDMC to value their health by monitoring it regularly through checkups and other services, and earn rewards in the process,” Amistoso said.

The UPHDMC, located along Alabang-Zapote Road in Las Piñas City, has nearly every medical service anyone may need — from basic laboratory services to the most highly specialized diagnostic procedures and medical treatments.
