Natural cough medicine for the whole family

-

MANILA, Philippines - Children and adults alike are susceptible to cough and colds during the rainy season. Since most of them stay indoors when there’s a downpour, there is a greater risk of them getting sick as well as spreading the cough and cold virus.

It’s a good thing there is ASCOF Lagundi. One family in particular has discovered its ease and effectiveness in addressing cough symptoms.

The Co family from Muntinlupa is made up of daddy Hans, a bicycle shop owner; mommy Cherie, who is a pre-school teacher and part-time businesswomen; and their three daughters, Samantha, 10; Sabrina, 8; and Sophia, 4.

“The rainy season brings a lot of sickness like coughs and the flu. Luckily, we learned about ASCOF Lagundi, which is the cough medicine of our family,” says Cherie.

Hans adds that he and his wife have always been meticulous with the type of medicine that they take and give to their children.

“Since ASCOF Lagundi is natural and made from a medicinal plant, we are confident that it is safe and effective,” says 37-year-old Hans.

ASCOF Lagundi is made from 100-percent lagundi leaves. Lagundi is the first herbal medicine from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology to be licensed and launched in the market. It is also one of the 10 herbal medicines endorsed by the Department of Health (DOH).

Clinical studies have shown that lagundi is much safer compared to conventional chemical-based medicines. Documented folkloric data also say that some medicinal plant-based products like lagundi are far safer on long-term use. Generations of Filipinos can attest to this.

Lagundi tablet and syrup as an herbal medicine is a product of more than two decades of research by the National Integrated Research Program of Medicinal Plants, a group of top academic institutions and scientists in the Philippines.

ASCOF Lagundi is safe to use by the entire family and has no side effects and has no risk of overdose. It uses 100-percent lagundi leaves that are nurtured organically in a quality-certified farm.

Aside from being a natural cough medicine, the Co family also likes that ASCOF Lagundi comes in different forms — each specifically made to address the different needs of each family member.

“We find ASCOF Lagundi a very convenient brand because it is both for kids and adults. It is good to know that it can address my family’s cough concerns with its line of products,” shares Hans who enjoys various outdoor activities like camping and biking with his daughters.

Parents like Hans who have kids aged two years old and above can also take comfort in the fact that their children’s coughing problems can be effectively addressed by ASCOF Lagundi Syrup without worrying about the detrimental effect, such as palpitations and compromised liver functions, that chemical-based cough formulations may bring.

Likewise, he and his wife find it easier to administer ASCOF Lagundi Syrup to their children as it comes in two delicious flavors: ponkan and strawberry.

Cherie explains, “Some cough products and herbal medicines have a bitter taste the kids don’t like so we are glad that ASCOF Lagundi Syrup comes in yummy flavors.”

ASCOF Lagundi Forte Syrup in menthol, meanwhile, is suitable for the young (teenage) adults and adults — the 13 years old and above age group.

It also comes in a sugar-free variant, which is also good for health-conscious and diabetic consumers looking for sugar-free medication.

ASCOF Lagundi also comes in both tablet and capsule forms.
