Quake-mitigation solution protects critical equipment
MANILA, Philippines – The recent increasing number of earthquakes that have led to the loss of thousands of lives and millions of dollars in damages has made seismic mitigation solutions a critical component in the operations of Fortune 500 companies, business process outsourcing and information technology firms, and other corporations that store and process huge amounts of vital data.
Because of its location in the Pacific Ring of Fire, the Philippines experiences regular tremors, some of them on a significant scale such as the 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Zambales last April.
In response to this growing concern, the Data Center Design Corp. (DCDC) has launched the ISO Base Seismic Isolation Platform that protects sensitive electronic components during a seismic activity.
The three-inch-high platform deflects damaging shock and vibration and is suited for mainframes, server racks, optical storage units or any sensitive or valuable equipment.
While no equipment can guarantee 100 percent protection, the ISO Platform carries high levels of confidence as a mitigation solution in seismic events with a magnitude similar to strong quakes.
It also has passed the toughest global standards such as the Canadian Government Standards testing and the Japan Quality Assurance.
DCDC (www.dcdc.com.ph) has been the leading provider of state-of-the-art and cost-effective products designed for data center and other critical spaces.
