Filipino surgeons to hold annual gab

The International College of Surgeons-Philippine Section (ICS-PS) will hold its 59th annual convention on Nov. 21-23 at the Centennial Ballroom of Manila Hotel.

With the theme “Global Health, Our Responsibility,” the convention boasts of both locally and internationally known speakers who will tackle the different aspects of the rising health needs in the country.

US Ambassador Kristie Kenney, who was invited to grace the opening ceremony as its keynote speaker, is expected to discuss global health needs and goals that aim to improve the health conditions of Filipinos. 

Other topics to be discussed are Disaster Managements, Risk Managements, Patient Safety, New Trends in Treatment and Diagnosis, and Surgical Controversies.

Induction of new members will also be held.

Currently, the International College of Surgeons-Philippine Section is under the leadership of president Dr. Edwin Argonza and chairman Dr. Placido Calimag Jr.
