The wonders of ginseng

Energin 300, which was recently launched in the local market, offers the highest ginseng content in capsule form. Ginseng has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine to give sustained physical, mental and sexual energy.

Aside from its high ginseng content, Energin 300 also contains 100 mg of royal jelly, which is well known for its rejuvenating and revitalizing effects on the body.

“Prolonged endurance to last long and be in top form is what Energin 300 can offer,” said Charles Cultura, product manager of Trianon International, local distributor of Energin 300.

The product is manufactured by Illinois-based Now Foods, one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality vitamins and food supplements in the United States.

Cultura said Energin 300 contains 300 mg of ginseng, about two to 10 times higher than the ginseng content of available local brands.

He said they have conducted pre-launch trials of Energin 300 among office executives, managers and rank-and-file workers, call center workers, taxi drivers, and students, and majority of them indicated improvement in their physical and mental performance.

Married males also claimed a noted improvement in their virility and sexual potency.

Students reported better concentration and memory after taking the product. Heavy coffee drinkers who consumed more than three cups of strong coffee per day to keep them awake also reported that taking Energin 300 once or twice daily enabled them to cut down on their coffee drinking.

The reason behind ginseng’s healthy benefits is its component called ginsenosides. According to dietitian Grace Quek of Excellence Healthcare, the ginsenosides found in the ginseng root “contain anti-inflammatory properties and efficacy has also been established in its benefits for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).” People with CFS complain about lack of energy, weakness and easy fatigability.

According to Michael Murray, author of The Healing Power of Herbs, ginseng’s benefit should not be confused with an ordinary stimulant, saying it is not an instant energy booster, but taken regularly, it activates the body’s natural energy enhancers, especially when the body is involved in stressful activities and situations. It increases the absorption of fatty acids and converts them into energy.

Ginseng’s “anti-fatigue action” is related to its ability to stimulate the central nervous system and release of non-adrenaline energy-enhancing hormones, as described by author Mark Mayell in his book Off-the-shelf Natural Health.

It is due to the effective anti-fatigue benefit of ginseng that the 1997 Commission on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs called ginseng “(a) tonic for invigoration and fortification in times of fatigue and debility, for declining capacity for work and concentration, also during convalescence.”

Energin 300 is available in all Mercury Drugstores nationwide. The recommended dose is one capsule after breakfast and another capsule in the late afternoon or evening if sustained performance is required. For inquiries, call the Trianon hotline at 815-3239 or text 0917-8836164.
