Training course for new pollution control officers

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP) will conduct a basic training course for new pollution control officers (PCOs) on Sept. 11-14 at the Quezon City Sports Club on E. Rodriguez Boulevard.
The seminar will orient prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs, and the PCOs’ duties and responsibilities.
EMB director Arnulfo Hernandez will lead the training to enable industries to improve their environmental management and pollution prevention and enable them to maintain cleaner production of goods.
The participants will be accredited as PCOs. For inquiries, call engineer Ding Briones and Procy Quijano of the DENR-EMB-NCR, at 781-0482, 781-0485 or 781-0471, or Cathy Baguisi of the WEAP secretariat at 371-9790 or 410-1119.
