A strong and informed immune system is our best defense

In 1949, Dr. H. Sherwood Lawrence, a researcher working on tuberculosis, found that he could transfer immunity between patients using fractioned white blood cells. The key ingredient was a part of the lymphocyte cell, and Lawrence called this component "transfer factor."
This discovery was not actively pursued for nearly 30 years until the late 80s. At the time colostrum and milk were discovered to contain significant amounts of transfer factor.
The exact mechanism of action of transfer factor has never been determined but it is now known that the transfer factor is a lymphokine. The two most notable lymphokines are interferon and interleukins.
Transfer factor helps the body recognize antigens.
Dr. M. Metz, a veterinarian consulting for 4LifeResearch, the company, which has the patent for extracting transfer factor from colostrum, pointed out that 200 mg (one capsule) of the transfer factor has the potential for recognizing at least 100,000 pathogens.
Metz added that not only can the transfer factor be specific for an individual antigen that a lymphocyte is exposed to, but the "transfer factor can also stimulate a multivalent response."
4LifeResearch has found that by exposing cattle to various bacteria and viruses they can produce a transfer factor that will stimulate immunity to other related strains of bacteria and viruses that are much more pathogenic to other species.
While most types of immunity take 10 to 14 days to develop, the transfer factor, according to Mertz, activates that same immunity within 24 hours.
Positive research data have been piling up concerning the most promising immune agent in years, though, and immunologists may be finally making good on their earlier predictions.
The transfer factor, as this new immune compound is being called, may be the long-awaited "next step" and it may be everything that was promised.
Richard Bennet, Ph.D., an infectious disease immunologist, wrote: "It is our ability to create a really healthy immune system that I think represents the greatest potential gains in health in the world."
It is the immune system, after all, which provides humans and animals with the ability to recognize and remember potentially harmful foreign substances such as bacteria and viruses. The immune system allows us to then respond to these threatening invaders in our systems.
The cellular immunity system is responsible for defense against infections due to viruses, fungi and some types of bacteria and cancers. The transfer factor stimulates both portions of the immune system.
The transfer factor is also a natural killer cell inductor. These cells are non-specific attack cells that seek out and destroy infected or malignant cells and cells infected by viruses.
The transfer factor increases natural killer cell activity five times over normal rates and it is non-species specific. It is believed that this aspect of the transfer factor is related to the significant improvements seen in certain cancer patients who have taken this product. Multiple sclerosis patients have also shown improvements.
Since the founding of 4LifeResearch in 1998, chief executive officer David Lisonbees primary focus has been on immunity and transfer factors immune system "messenger" molecules that scientists believe are responsible for "informing" the immune system of how best to respond in any given situation, unlike antibodies.
Transfer factors can transfer vital immune information across species, which means we can benefit from the immune knowledge of animals with resilient or "heroic" immune systems.
To date, Lisonbee has required two patents of 4LifeResearchs work with transfer factors and has an additional four patents pending.
Also known as Natures own "miracle molecule," transfer factors (www.transferinstitute.com) are naturally occurring elements that support the immune systems ability to recognize, respond to and remember potential health threats, thus providing the assistance the immune system needs to either boost or balance its activity.
To date, there are over 4,000 published papers and studies since transfer factors were first discovered over 50 years ago. Recent independent studies conducted by the Russian Academy of Medical Science report that 4Life transfer factor plus advanced formula propels immune system function to 437 percent above normal immune response!
4Life Research (www.4life.com), the world leader in the development of transfer factor immune support products, and rated by INC magazine as the 15th fastest growing privately held company in the US, has a unique product that helps boost ones immune system.
This unique and patented product is called Transfer Factor marketed in more than 40 countries.
With the current threat of bird flu, the best defense is a strong and informed immune system which transfer factors provide.
4LIFE Research Philippines is conducting free seminars about transfer factor and its tremendous benefits to the health and immune system every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at 4Life Research Philippines LLC, 8th floor, San Miguel Properties Centre, No. 7, Saint Francis Avenue, Mandaluyong City.
