MANILA, Philippines - Philconstruct, the premier trade exhibit for the country’s construction industry, registered a record 71,378 visitors during the recent four-day event held in three massive venues – the SMX Convention Center, World Trade Center Manila and WTCMM-Tent.
On its 26th year, Philconstruct attracted 1,314 exhibiting companies with products and technologies from 25 countries, occupying over 52,400 square meters of show space.
Philconstruct was organized through the joint efforts of Philconstruct Events, Exhibitions and Conferences Corp. (PEECC) and the Philippine Constructors Association Inc. (PCA), with support from their partners, Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors Inc. (ACEL) and the Philippine Society of Ventilating, Air-conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers Inc. (PSVARE).
Philconstruct remains the home of the industry’s top suppliers including its co-presenters Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines Inc. and Neltex Development; and major sponsors Cemex Philippines, CW Home Depot, Hilti Philippines, Holcim Philippines Inc., Lafarge Cement Services Inc., LG Electronics Philippines Inc., Panasonic Philippines, Inc., Puyat Steel Corp., Qishu Heavy Equipment Corp., and Samsung Electronics Philippines.
The exhibit also featured a series of seminars called Technoforum which covered topics such as construction occupational safety and health, crane lifting and rigging safety, pro-active maintenance, webbing sling and full harness safety, getting prepared for emergencies and disasters, computing power loads and matching generator capacities, basic requirements for a green building and construction.
Another feature is Estilo de Vida, the longest-running interior design competition in the country for budding Filipino interior designers. Poala Mae Madayag of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) bagged the championship trophy along with a P100,000 cash prize. Runners-up were Justine Durognan and Angelie Saberon both also representing the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
