Church of St John Paul II rises in Timberland Heights

MANILA, Philippines - An iconic church in honor of the recently canonized St. John Paul II is rising at the mountain slopes of San Mateo, Rizal, at the Timberland Heights development of Filinvest Land Inc.

The Church of St. John Paul II, dedicated to his works and life, will reflect the simplicity and nobility of the beloved pope’s poignant life and works: from the intricate crisscrossing roof beams that articulate the Papal Miter and devotion to the Virgin Mary, to the transparent glass naves that open and extend to the Eucharistic community.

Targeted to break ground this quarter, the Church of St. John Paul II would change the pilgrimage and wedding destination in the metro.

Filinvest has been inspired by St. John Paul II’s own words in his “Letter to Artists” to create “epiphanies of beauty,” Ceballos noted.

“The architectural design of the church would easily blend with Timberland’s natural setting, creating the mood for devotion and meditation,” says Ceballos.

Things are looking up for this scenic township as it also gears for the opening of the Adventure Farms, a satellite organic educational farm park for kids, as well as the development of the Timberland Outlook Park to showcase the breathtaking metro skyline.
