New line of LED fluorescent tubes

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - DSL GAM Enterprises unveiled recently its new line of cost-efficient and energy-saving LED fluorescent tubes that ably addresses the energy crisis. The LED (light emitting diode) tubes are a new generation of green environmental protection product with lower power consumption and advantages of lightweight, small size, long life expectancy and durability. While traditional fluorescent tubes last  10 to 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs, the LED tubes last twice as long as the fluorescent tubes. The brightness of LED tubes is also three to four times higher than that of the traditional fluorescent ones. LED tubes are safe against fires as they do not cause heat buildup while the traditional tubes can be up to two degrees warmer. LED fluorescent tubes consist  of an aluminum alloy light body and a PC cover. The traditional T5/T8 fluorescent tubes work with inductance ballast which might cause problems like large power consumption, great heat emission, wink start-up, low power factor, tube replacement, ballast and starter frequency. With the many advantages of LED lights, , they are  now the most used lights, replacing the incandescent and the traditional fluorescent tubes, said Denzel Lim, business manager of DSL. Property developers  and managers have also switched to the use of  LED fluorescent tubes. Lim added that  their LED products are made in Taiwan which are of  better quality. Since they are factory – direct, Lim said that they can supply made-to-order LED lights according to customer specifications.
